How We Started

Praxis Bible School was born out of the desire expressed by participants of the first Annual Reformation Conference in 2018. During that initial gathering, many attendees posed the question: how can we actively engage in reforming the church in Congo? Praxis Bible School emerged as the practical response to this need, providing a structured way to equip church leaders and laypeople with sound theological education aimed at transforming both their lives and their communities. The school was established to serve as a key driver of reformation in the Congolese church and beyond.

Biblical Foundation

Praxis Bible School is built upon the foundation of Scripture as the ultimate authority for faith, life, and ministry. The school seeks to embody the principles found in 2 Timothy 2:15, which urges believers to be diligent workers who rightly handle the Word of Truth, and Ephesians 4:12, which emphasizes equipping the saints for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up. Our teaching focuses on the supremacy of Christ and the sufficiency of Scripture, rejecting false doctrines and embracing biblical truth to foster spiritual maturity and Christ-like integrity.

Our Vision

Our vision is to raise a new generation of men and women committed to God, equipped with a Christ-centered understanding of the Scriptures, and prepared to refute ancient and modern heresies. We envision graduates who will influence their society with Christ-like integrity, equip believers with sound doctrine for effective Christian service, and finish their race in ministry with the assurance of having faithfully served the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Mission

Praxis Bible School exists to provide church leaders and laypeople interested in theological education with Reformed theological training aimed at bringing about practical transformation in their own lives and society, all for the glory of Christ. The school aims to be a resource for individuals desiring to grow deeper in their knowledge of God, to be effective in ministry, and to serve their communities with integrity and biblical conviction.

Our Objectives

Equip Leaders: To provide in-depth theological education that equips church leaders and laypeople with sound doctrine and practical ministry skills.

Promote Reformation: To promote the theological reformation of churches in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Francophone Africa by training leaders who are passionate about biblical fidelity.

Combat False Doctrine: To prepare leaders to recognize, refute, and guard against heretical teachings such as the prosperity gospel, deliverance gospel, and syncretism, which threaten the purity of the church.

Community Impact: To raise leaders who are not only equipped theologically but also able to influence their communities with Christ-like integrity, bringing transformation both in the church and in society at large.

Church Planting: To develop a cohort of church planters who are trained and mentored to establish biblically grounded, gospel-centered churches throughout Congo and Francophone Africa.

Our Challenges

Praxis Bible School faces several challenges in its mission. Chief among them is the prevalence of false teachings such as syncretism, the prosperity gospel, and the deliverance gospel, which continue to mislead many believers.

Additionally, there is a challenge in securing resources and funding necessary to expand our reach, improve our facilities, and ensure that quality theological education is accessible to all who desire it. The cultural and logistical barriers in providing theological education in remote areas also present significant challenges that need to be addressed through innovative solutions and partnerships.

Our Strategies

To achieve its mission, Praxis Bible School employs several strategic initiatives:

Collaboration with Global Ministries: We partner with international ministries and theological institutions that share our Reformed convictions, bringing in experienced instructors and high-quality resources to enrich our curriculum. This helps create a robust educational experience that is both biblically grounded and contextually relevant.

Recruitment Through Conferences: Praxis Bible School utilizes events like the Annual Reformation Conference to recruit potential students who are eager to deepen their theological knowledge and prepare for effective ministry. These events serve as touchpoints for identifying individuals with a passion for reformation and church leadership.

Accessibility of Education: We are expanding our online presence to make our courses accessible to students across Francophone Africa, breaking down barriers of distance and resource limitations.

Practical Ministry Training: Our curriculum emphasizes not only theological education but also hands-on ministry training. We integrate practical components such as mentorship, internships, and fieldwork to ensure that our students are well-prepared for real-life ministry challenges.

Church Planting Network: In partnership with networks such as the Great Commission Collective, Praxis Bible School aims to train and mentor church planters, providing them with the theological grounding and practical support they need to establish new churches across Congo and Francophone Africa.
